[Things That Happened]

The Trinity College Dischords were founded in the Fall of 2005 by Samara Strauss '07, making them the second co-ed a cappella group on Trinity's campus. They debuted their first two songs "Doo-Wop" and "Love the One You're With" during the 2005 Homecoming Concert. During their first semester they also opened for the Trinitones final concert. That Spring the Dischords held their first final concert, graduating their first alumnus, Erika Lopes with "Mad World."

In the Fall of 2006, the Dischords began building their extensive repertoire, which now consists of over 25 songs. That Spring, the 'Chords had their first touring experience at an acappella festival hosted by groups at Union College. They also graduated their founding members Samara Strauss ("No Such Thing"), Niki Hall ("Suddenly I See"), and Allison Mathis ("Mahna Mahna").

In the Fall of 2007, the group saw its first leadership change since its inception, as Stacy Raboin 08' and Isabel Gottlieb 09' led the Dischords through the fall, with Bryce Snarski-Pierce 10' stepping in for Isabel in the Spring. That Fall the 'Chords hosted the UPENN Dischord, visited Voice Male at Brandeis, and recorded their first CD entitled Petting Zoo. Always looking for opportunities to collaborate with other groups the Dischords hosted and visited Choral Pleasure from SUNY Purchase in the Spring of 2008. The 'Chords also performed for several charitable organizations, such as the West Hartford Community Center for Special Needs. During their final concert that Spring they graduated Stacy Raboin ("Love Song"), Gene Pan ("Plush"), and Lesya Gaynor ("Faith").

In the Fall of 2008, the group went on their first tour to Washington DC and began the process of recording their second album. During their winter final concert, they graduated Suny Park ("But I Do Love You"). In the Spring they graduated the first generation of four-year 'Chords, the Co-directors, Isabel Gottlieb ("Streetcorner Symphony") and Bryce Snarski-Pierce ("Oh No You Didn't").

In the Fall of 2009, the 'Chords hosted the ConnArtists from Connecticut College for their Halloween Concert and visited Wicked Pitch at UMASS Amherst. This Spring the group will complete the process of the recording its long anticipated first album as well as collaborate with some fantastic groups.
